The 2018 Turbo Santa Barbara Water Polo Camp is designed to help prepare your athletes for the rest of their water polo career. The camp is designed to have a direct impact on your overall game. While fitness is a key aspect to a great water polo player our philosophy focuses on fundamental position and ball skills. Therefore, the camp will combine fitness, both swimming and leg strength, coupled with an intense review of all fundamental aspects of the game. From basic defensive position, to drive shooting to 2m “O” to 6vs5 shooting to 2m “D” to 5v6 base defensive position. The goalie portion of the camp is run by Olympic goalkeepers Genai Kerr and Andy Stevens and will focus on goalie specific movement and most importantly leg strength.

The camp is open to athletes 12-18 years of age. For athletes under 12 years of age strong swimming ability and a basic knowledge of the game are required.

Please come prepared in the following: tennis shoes, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, suit, goggles, notebook/pencil and the willingness to work hard, learn new techniques, and have lots of fun. Pillow and linens/blanket can be rented for 25$. You should bring your own if you are not interested in renting. THE DECEMBER 2018 HOLIDAY CAMP IS NOW A DAY OR RESIDENT CAMP.
Transportation:
UCSB is located off the 101 freeway in Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara. Transportation is available for campers traveling to and from the local airport, train or bus station. All
transportation requests must be received in writing two weeks prior to the first day of camp. A $10 round trip fee will be assessed for this service (prorated $5 for one-way travel).
Multiple Child/Session Discounts:
Register for more than one session or register more than one child from the same family and receive a $50 discount! Discounted amount will be automatically deducted at check-out.
Cancellations:
Your session fee, minus a $100.00 non-refundable administrative fee, will be refunded without questions if cancellation occurs before May 22, 2018. Refunds will not occur after this time. Furthermore, campers who voluntarily leave camp or who are sent home for disciplinary reasons will not be refunded money and will be sent home at their parent’s expense.
Resident campers will stay at Tropicana Gardens Dormitory. This is subject to change. Check in for Resident campers will be at the this dorm. Check in for day campers will be at the campus pool.
Check in for the Winter Camp Dec at 12PM-3PM for Resident Campers and 3:45 PM for day campers at the campus pool. Check out is at noon for both groups at the Campus pool after the last pool session.
